Developing AI-Enhanced Language Learning Web Applications Through No-Code Platforms
This presentation introduces AI-supported web applications developed through no-code platforms to enhance English language learners’ productive and receptive skills. No-code environments enable educators and researchers to design and deploy interactive applications without programming expertise, opening new possibilities for computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and meaningful AI integration into pedagogical contexts. The project utilizes Vercel’s v0 platform and Google AI Studio for rapid prototyping of AI-powered learning applications. The current prototype allows learners to summarize or express opinions on short news articles through speech or text input. Additionally, the project includes developing a web application for conversation practice with an AI chatbot on specific news articles with feedback. AI automatically evaluates learner’s responses based on semantic relevance, lexical and grammatical accuracy, and—for audio input—pronunciation and fluency, providing individualized feedback to enhance their comprehension and production abilities. Key objectives include exploring how AI feedback can complement traditional classroom instruction through timely, adaptive responses. The development process demonstrates how no-code tools enable educators to focus on instructional design and assessment logic rather than programming syntax, democratizing access to advanced educational technology. The presentation addresses critical implementation challenges including data security, model accuracy, and feedback reliability.
